[About NARAN] NARAN's Barbecue Party

 [About NARAN] NARAN's Barbecue Party

GPIO RF module hacking guide

URL : http://demo.myprota.com

 URL  : http://demo.myprota.com

[About NARAN] Introduce NARAN's DemoRoom

[About NARAN] Introducing NARAN's Demo Room

You had a glimpse of what Demo Room looks like before from NARAN’s Office(if you haven’t, read this contents). Demo Room is a special lobby-like space where guests can have business meetings with us or where each team can have short scrum meetings. On the other hand when it’s not occupied, teams can lay back and lunch or converse casually here in Demo Room.

Nevertheless, this isn’t the real purpose of what Demo Room is for. It’s where PROTA, things, and web services interconnect. You can access them and experience them live from wherever you are as long as you’re connected to internet. For further understanding, let me eleborate on what each PROTA does.

< PROTA Pi, the General Manager of Demo Room>

This’s PROTA Pi. It’s a combination of Raspberry Pi B+, PROTA OS, and Raspberry Pi BASE designed specifically for the hardware by our team. We believe this’s one of the best PROTA there is. Add a Bluetooth dongle, one of your Bluetooth-capable devices can function as RFID to recognize whether you’re in the room or not. RF module on PROTA, moreover, makes wireless communication with RF devices to control them remotely. Wi-Fi Remote also adds IR protocol that lets you control all house appliances controlled by wireless remote controllers for house appliances.

The role of PROTA Pi is to control power of all digitalappliances in Demo Room. PROTA Pi controls ONOFF, the power outlet, via RF module and TV via Wi-Fi Remote.

However, this isn’t the end of what PROTA does. It’s when Ambiency, the app that realizes automation, meets PROTA that does some real work. When Email app is automated via Ambiency, you can send an email that says “at home” or “at work” to turn on and off all devices in Demo Room. If this’s still troublesome, the same email can be sent when you’re physically at home or at work via Bluetooth RFID.

<wcaudio, the DJ of Demo Room>

The purpose of this PROTA, which I assume you’ve probably found out by the name of PROTA, is unsurprisingly related to the restroom. Wcaudio cancels the private noise that can be embarrassing when it’s overheard. As a result, there’s always music in Demo Room. And it’s Volumio, one of the hottest open-source software for music, that makes this possible. Anyone in the space can take control of music and listen to music of his taste.

Wcaudio isn’t wired by ethernet. Instead, it uses Wi-Fi for wireless connection to internet. You all know how to set this up with PROTA Pi, right? (Please check Settings Tutorial if you don’t) Moreover, Wcaudio can also make use of Ambiency to simply turn on and off the audio via email.

<demopc64, the representative of Demo Room>

There’s something special about demopc64. Unlike its predecessor, PROTA Pi, it’s based on Intel x86, the performance class of computing. With all its power, Demopc86 provides the service you can experience via a web browser, Demo Live. Have you had the chance to try it out? (Please check Demo Live if you haven’t) Demo Live lets you remotely control power via power outlet, TV via IR, and Philips Hue via an app. Not to mention that you can also experience fast growing open-source software: OwnCloud, Transmission, and Volumio.

Best part of all is that you can try out Ambiency yourself. There are two rules that are configured by default. When ONOFF turns on, change color of Hue lamp. When ONOFF turns off, blink Hue lamp. You can alway add more rules. It's your turn to take it out for a spin.

<Entrance, the Security Guard of Demo Room>
Entrance is the gatekeeper PROTA of NARAN.

What's unique about this piece is that there're apps on this device that no other device does. They are the face recognition and the fingerprint recognition apps that distinguishes from the rest. They allow access control for our entrance to our private space, taking care of our security. These apps also work along with webcam installed in the entrance to check the current visual of the location and capture images periodically.

Ambiency also manages your power automatically by turning on the power outlet only when the person is at office recognized by his bio-information. When failed to be recognized, Volumio turns on heavy metal and Philips Hue blinks to notify that there may be possible, an unwanted visitor in our office.

That was a brief introduction of our Demo Room. How did you like it? The core value of Demo Room is that things and services are interlinked to provide an unified experience. Moreover, Ambiency can automatically take care of things instead of manually managing them one at a time. What if someone had to take care of these manually?
